The aim of the project is to control irrigation in a more targeted manner and to promote the well-being of trees that are stressed by urban conditions and climatic challenges such as drought, compacted soils and high temperatures. In addition to classic urban trees, so-called climate trees are also being observed in order to compare their climate adaptability and to develop a site-appropriate tree species list for Potsdam in the long term.
